Entergy Plymouth Station and C&W Services made the day possible and the generosity of sponsors, donors, and alumni was celebrated during the evening?s dinner at Cummaquid Golf Club.

  • Westfield Earns Fourth Straight Howard C. Smith Cup

    For the fourth year in a row, Westfield State received the most points out of the eight institutions to claim the Howard C. Smith Cup following the completion of the spring season. The Smith Cup is awarded annually to the member institution which compiles the most points based on the placement of each of its programs competing in the 15 league championship sports.

    The University of Massachusetts Boston highlights a list of eight universities?including four from New England?that will be fighting for a single spot at the NCAA Division III World Series. The New England Regional, hosted by Massachusetts Maritime Academy and the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce, drew the tournament champions from seven different conferences, including three teams ranked in the Top 25 nationally.

    Colin McCabe is officially the best freshman shot putter in New England. The star Massachusetts Maritime Academy thrower qualified for the prestigious multi-divisional All-New England Track and Field Championships and finished No. 8 across NCAA Divisions I, II, and III in shot put with a 15.35m throw.

    The dream season continues for shot putting sensation Colin McCabe. Not only did McCabe earned his fourth MASCAC Rookie of the Week nomination, but the two-sport freshman qualified for the All-New England Track and Field Championship on Saturday at Dartmouth College.

    The Massachusetts Maritime Academy men?s lacrosse was shut out of All-New England Women?s and Men?s Athletic Conference voting, but senior Nick Zaia concluded his career with a nice honor as he was named to the NEWMAC All-Sportsmanship Team.
