May 16, 2014 Westfield State Names Pete Kowalski Head Football Coach Pete Kowalski has been officially named the head football coach at Westfield State University. Kowalski, a longtime Westfield State assistant coach, had been named the interim head coach this past December after Steve Marino announced his retirement after coaching the Owls for 24 seasons. Kowalski becomes the first full-time head coach in the 33-year history of the Westfield State varsity football program.

December 6, 2013 Framingham State's Van Alstyne & Rosenbaum to be Honored by the Gridiron Club of Greater Boston Senior running back Melikke Van Alstyne and offensive coordinator Aynsley Rosenbaum are to be honored by the Gridiron Club of Greater Boston at the club’s annual Bob Whelan College Football Awards Night on Thursday, January 9th. Van Alstyne is the co-winner of the Joe Zabilski Award, while Rosenbaum will receive the Division II/III Assistant Coach of the Year Award.

Campbell Trophy, which recognizes an individual as the absolute best scholar-athlete in the nation, and he is also a candidate for one of 16 2013 National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete Awards that will be presented in December.
