Westfield State's Cardin Named to 2017-18 Google Cloud Academic All-District Women’s Track/Cross Country Team

All-District TF/XC Team

Westfield State senior cross country and track and field athlete Jessie Cardin earned yet another honor on Tuesday, as she was named to the the 2017-18 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Women's Track/Cross Country Team, selected by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America), recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the playing field and in the classroom.

First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot, with Google Cloud Academic All-America® teams announced in June.

Cardin recently earned the MASCAC's Female Scholar Athlete of the Year Award, as well as All-America honors in track and field in the 3,000 steeplechase. Cardin also earned All-America honors in cross country in the fall of 2017.

Cardin is the second Westfield State student athlete to be recognized by the Google Cloud Academic All-District program this spring, as Owls' baseball standout Alex Lafayette was recognized by the program a few weeks ago.
