Bridgewater State's Murtagh, Westfield State's Falcone Earn ECAC Soccer Weekly Honors
After helping their team to the MASCAC Tournament Championship last weekend in their respective sports, Bridgewater State's Conor Murtagh and Westfield State's Natalia Falcone have earned Eastern College Athletic Conference weekly accolades for their efforts.

After helping their team to the MASCAC Tournament Championship last weekend in their respective sports, Bridgewater State's Conor Murtagh and Westfield State's Natalia Falcone have earned Eastern College Athletic Conference weekly accolades for their efforts.
Earlier in the week, Murtagh was named the MASCAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week while Falcone earned Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week honors.
Murtagh tallied three goals and four assists for 10 points in a 3-0 week for the Bears while earning MASCAC Tournament MVP honors. The senior assisted on a pair of goals, including the game-winner, in the 3-2 quarterfinal win over Massachusetts Maritime. He then scored a goal and assisted on the game-winner in the 2-0 semifinal round win over Westfield State. Murtagh capped off the week by netting two goals, including the game-winner, to go along with an assist in the Bears’ 3-2 championship game victory over Framingham State.
Falcone posted five saves and a 0.00 goals against average in 110 minutes of play in the MASCAC Tournament. She entered at halftime and played the final 65 shutout minutes while making a key save and draining her own penalty kick in the semifinal victory over Bridgewater State. The freshman then played the second half in goal in the 1-0 MASCAC Tournament Championship win against Worcester State.
Bridgewater State will play MIT in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday at 11 am while Westfield State travels to Williams College for their first round match-up also on Saturday at 11 am.
