Five MASCAC Student-Athletes Earn ECAC Division III New England Weekly Honors
Five Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference student-athletes have earned Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III New England honors as announced by the conference earlier this week.

Five Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference student-athletes have earned Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III New England honors as announced by the conference earlier this week.
Lauren Geary of Bridgewater State and Naloti Palma of Westfield State earned Athlete of the Week honors in their respective sports of women's lacrosse and women's outdoor track and field while Meghan Rich of Worcester State was named Pitcher of the Week for softball. Jayci Andrews of Bridgewater State and Esteafan Jack of Westfield State took home women's and men's outdoor track and field rookie of the week accolades.
Geary tallied eight goals and three assists for 11 points as well as 22 draw controls and four ground balls in a 2-0 week for the Bears. The senior notched six goals and three assists to go along with 12 draws and a ground ball in a 20-7 win over Framingham State. She then potted a pair of goals and recorded 10 draws and three ground balls in a 19-11 win over Worcester State.
Palma captured three top finishes in the shot put (13.37m/43' 10.50"), discus (41.61m/ 136' 6") and hammer throw (45.51m/ 149' 4"), breaking the MASCAC and Alliance records in the shot put and discus at the 2016 MASCAC/New England Alliance Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Rich went 2-0 with two complete-game shutouts, scattering seven hits and tallying eight strikeouts for the Lancers this past week to claim the regular season title and top seed in the MASCAC Tournament. She only allowed four hits in the 5-0 complete-game shutout against Fitchburg State while striking out five, and then registered another complete-game shutout against MCLA, only giving up three hits and retiring three at the plate.
Andrews set a new MASCAC mark in the 400 meter dash (56.66) while also finishing first in the long jump (5.40m/ 17' 8.75") and running a leg on the MASCAC record breaking 4x400 relay (4:02.16) and 4x100 relay (48.61) at the 2016 MASCAC/New England Alliance Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Jack crossed the line first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.21 at the 2016 MASCAC/New England Alliance Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
