Fitchburg State's Cameron Stalters and Framingham State's Mycala Moody were named the ECAC Division III New England Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week and DIII NE Softball Rookie of the Week as announced by the organization yesterday.

Earlier this week, Stalters earned the same MASCAC weekly honor while Moody was named the MASCAC Softball Player and Rookie of the Week. 

Stalters earns his fourth weekly accolade of the year after placing first overall in the javelin with an Open New England qualifying toss of 67.23 meter at the Elmer Swanson Outdoor Classic Invitational, hosted by Wesleyan University on Saturday afternoon. With that toss, Stalters currently ranks second in nation in the javelin.

The Fitchburg State men's outdoor track team returns to action this weekend as it competes in the 2017 MASCAC/Alliance Championships, hosted by Westfield State University on Saturday, starting at 11 am.

Moody batted .533 (8-for-15) with a triple, two RBI, seven runs scored, three walks and three stolen bases in a 5-1 week for the Rams.  She went 3-for-4 with three runs scored, a triple and an RBI in a MASCAC doubleheader sweep of Worcester State and scored a pair of runs with a pair of stolen bases in a win over Roger Williams.  She closed the week going 3-for-6 with an RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base in a doubleheader sweep of Massachusetts Maritime.

The Rams take the diamond again this afternoon in MASCAC doubleheader action against Salem State. First pitch is at 2 pm.
