Four MASCAC Student-Athletes Earn ECAC Weekly Honors

Ryan Magni of Fitchburg State and Richard Fecteau, Jose Cedano and Jess Toussant of Salem State have earned Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) weekly awards for either baseball or softball.
Fecteau has begun this season red hot for the Vikings. This past week, the junior second baseman went 11-for-16 with two doubles and a pair of homers. Over five games, he racked up a team-high nine RBI. His effort earned him the MASCAC Baseball Player of the Week and a spot on the D3baseball.com Team of the Week.
Magni recorded a win and a loss on the mound for Fitchburg State this past week. En route to posting a 0.50 earned run average in 14 total innings, he accumulated 19 strikeouts and allowed just one earned one to earn MASCAC Co-Pitcher of the Week accolades.
The MASCAC Baseball Rookie of the Week, Cedano served the role as a run-producer for the Vikings this past week. The freshman catcher knocked in six RBI in just 15 plate appearances while batting .467 for the week. In a doubleheader sweep of Lakeland College, Cedano went 4-for-7 with three runs batted in.
Reigning MASCAC Softball Player of the Week, Toussaint batted .643 with two home runs, including a grand slam, a double and 10 RBI with a 1.143 slugging percentage in a 4-0 week for the Vikings. In a doubleheader sweep of Mount Mary and Rockford University, she went 4-for-4, with a grand slam and seven RBI in a 12-4 win over the Blue Angels and followed up by going 3-for-4 with a double and two runs batted in a 10-5 win against the Regents.
