Westfield State University's Dave Jolicoeur (Wilbraham) was selected the New England Football Conference (NEFC) defensive player of the week.

The Owls' starting strong safety scored two touchdowns, including an 88-yard interception return that lifted Westfield to a 16-7 halftime lead in a 43-21 victory over Nichols College. Jolicoeur also ran for a 31-yard touchdown on a fake punt attempt and was Westfield's second leading tackler with six solo stops.

Teammate Evan Berneche (Chicopee) made the NEFC weekly honor roll. Berneche had five catches for 166 yards and a touchdown and threw for a 16-yard touchdown on a fake field goal attempt.
