Fitchburg State, Westfield State Chosen as Front Runners for 2025 MASCAC Field Hockey Championship
Last season’s MASCAC Regular Season Champions Fitchburg State and tournament champion Westfield State have been voted by the coaches around the league as front runners for the 2025 MASCAC Field Hockey Champion in the preseason poll.

Westfield, Mass.— Last season's MASCAC Regular Season Champions Fitchburg State and tournament champion Westfield State have been voted by the coaches around the league as front runners for the 2025 MASCAC Field Hockey Champion in the preseason poll.
Coming off a historic year where Fitchburg State won their first MASCAC Regular Season title, the Falcons return reigning MASCAC Offensive Player of the Year Sophia Yates who led the conference with 16 goals, 34 points and 98 shots last season while assisting on two goals. Four of her markers were game-winners while she also made a defensive save.
Westfield State claimed last season's MASCAC Tournament title and look to Kaleigh Murphy to continue her success from last season. The All-Conference honoree finished the year with 12 goals and six assists for 30 points. She netted five game-winning goals, including the game-winner in the 2-1 win over Bridgewater State in the MASCAC Championship game.
Sitting in third is Worcester State. The Lancers were 6-4 during the regular season. All-Conference defender Allison Keenan is back after collecting two goals and three assists for seven points while defensively holding opponents to a .146 shooting percentage.
Bridgewater State lands in the fourth spot after making it to the MASCAC Tournament title game in 2024. Reigning MASCAC Co-Rookie of the Year Samantha Souza looks to repeat her freshman success after she finished with 26 points on 12 goals and two assists, including three that were game-winners. Her 12 goals were the second-most in the league last season.
Grabbing the fifth spot in the poll is Framingham State. The Rams were 5-5 in conference play last season. Natalia Roehr led the team with seven goals along with an assist for 15 points with a .233 shooting percentage on the year.
Rounding out the 2025 preseason poll are Salem State and Anna Maria in sixth and seventh, respectively. For the Vikings, freshman Grace Morey returns after she scored 15 points on five goals and five assists in 17 starts to earn a spot on the All-Conference team. Joining the MASCAC this season, the AMCATS will look to Madison Marie Romano as they begin their time as part of the conference.
