Marcus Faison of Salem State and Cal Howes of Worcester State earn the MASCAC Men's Basketball Player and Rookie of the Week accolades after competing in the championship game Saturday.

Marcus Faison Faison averaged 20.5 points, 11 rebounds while shooting 52 percent from the floor (15-29) while earning Tournament MVP honors as the Vikings claimed the MASCAC Tournament Championship. Scored 21 points with 11 rebounds and two blocks in the 69-68 semifinal win over Bridgewater State and added 20 points and 11 rebounds in the championship game 100-82 victory over Worcester State.

Howes averaged 10.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists in a 2-1 week for the Lancers. Picked up 12 points, a rebound and a steal in the 71-63 quarterfinal win over Westfield State, then netted seven points, three rebounds and an assist in the 71-68 semifinal win over Fitchburg. In the MASCAC Championship game, registered 12 points, three rebounds, two assists and a block. |
