Marcus Faison of Salem State and Keiland Cross of MCLA are the first MASCAC Men's Basketball Player and Rookie of the Week honorees of the 2016-17 season.

Marcus Faison Faison averaged 19.7 points and 12 rebounds while shooting 54 percent (23-42) in a 2-1 week for the Vikings. Notched a double-double effort of 20 points and 13 rebounds while shooting 9-of-15 from the floor in the 89-73 win over UMass Dartmouth and 22 points and 18 rebounds in the 91-72 consolation game victory over Sage College at the Eastern Connecticut Tip-Off Tournament. Also netted 17 points, five rebounds and two blocks in the setback to Middlebury College.

Cross averaged 11.3 points, seven rebounds and three assists in three games for the Trailblazers. Scored 18 points with nine rebounds and three assists in the 85-66 loss to Coast Guard. Added 11 points, seven boards and three assists in the loss to Lyndon State College. |
