Marcus Collins of Westfield State and Mike Demartinis of MCLA are the first MASCAC Men's Basketball Player and Rookie of the Week award winners of the season.

Marcus Collins Collins averaged 17.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.3 steals and two blocks while shooting 78.6% (22-28) from the field in a 2-1 week for the Owls. Scored 20 points and gathered six rebounds in the 88-69 season opening win over Lesley College, had nine points, eight rebounds, an assist, four steals and three blocks in the 84-81 win over Lehman College and netted 23 points with eight rebounds and three blocked shots in a 67-61 setback to Bowdoin College in the championship game of the Rick Martin-Holiday Inn Express Tip Off Tournament. |

Demartinis was named to the All-Tournament team in the Ken Wright Invitational hosted by Amherst after averaging 17 points and seven rebounds while shooting 50% (12-24) from the field in a 1-1 week for the Trailblazers. Scored 19 points with seven rebounds in the 78-60 setback to Western New England University and tallied 15 points and seven rebounds in the 61-59 win over Sarah Lawrence College. |
