2020-21 MASCAC Men's Basketball News
Bridgewater State guard Alan Pettway and forward Max Schraut along with Westfield State guard Mason Resendes have been named to the 2020-2021 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court which recognizes men's basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the past season.
A total of 881 student-athletes have been honored by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference with selection to the league’s 2021 Winter/Spring All-Academic Team that was released earlier today by Commissioner Angela Baumann.
As we did with the fall sports, the conference still wants to recognize the great success of our winter student-athletes. Each week, the MASCAC will honor a champion from the 2019-20 championship season as MASCAC Players of the Week brought to you by GEICO.

Chris Harvey, Salem State men’s basketball coach, grew up in Somerville, Mass. and was just like many others his age looking up to his local superstars. Little did he know was that his dream of basketball greatness would one day become his future career.

The NCAA has released winter sport guidelines and the state of Massachusetts recently updated their winter sport policies. After an in-depth review of the information from the state and NCAA, consultation among the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Presidents, athletic directors, and athletic trainers and after exhausting all possibilities, including a review of the risks involved, the eight MASCAC Presidents have made the difficult decision to cancel all winter sports competition. This includes the sports of men’s and women’s basketball, men’s ice hockey and men’s and women’s indoor track and field.
