Salem State Picked to Repeat at 2025 MASCAC Men’s Golf Championship
Last season’s MASCAC Men’s Golf Champion Salem State has been chosen to claim their second straight title at the 2025 MASCAC Men’s Golf Championship as voted on by the coaches from around the league.

Westfield, Mass.— Last season’s MASCAC Men’s Golf Champion Salem State has been chosen to claim their second straight title at the 2025 MASCAC Men’s Golf Championship as voted on by the coaches from around the league.
The Vikings received five first place votes to land in the top spot in this year’s poll. At last year’s championship, the team finished with +43 with Patrick Cotter coming in 17th place for the MASCAC Champions with a +21 outing.
Taking the final two first place votes in second is MCLA. The Trailblazers were runner-up at last year’s championship. Cody White returns for the squad after finishing at +19 over the two day championship for 15th place.
Sitting in third is Springfield. The Pride finished third at the 2024 MASCAC Championship. Matthew Kumpulanian earned MASCAC Rookie of the Year honors as he finished tied for sixth overall with a 158, which included a 77 on Saturday. In addition to being named the top newcomer in the conference, Kumpulanian secured a spot on the all-conference second team as he totaled 10 pars on Sunday.
Marymount lands in the fourth spot. In their first MASCAC Men’s Golf Tournament, Chase Manion placed third individually, shooting a 72 (E) and 78 (+6) across the 36 holes.He earned First Team All-Conference after his performance, also notching a new single-round career low on day one.
Worcester State is up next in fifth. The Lancers were fifth at the championship last season. Jon Gastonguay came in 12th place with a +16 with a +5 on day one of the tournament.
Rounding out the poll is Westfield State and Marywood in sixth and seventh. For the Owls, Will Gangi comes back this season after finishing 22nd, shooting +27 for the 36 holes championship. For the Pacers, Baden Hancock was the top finisher in 2024, coming in 26th place with a +29 over the two days.
The MASCAC men’s golf teams will get the 2025 season underway over the next few weeks which culminates in the MASCAC Championship on September 20-21 hosted by Worcester State at The Blissful Meadows Golf Course in Uxbridge, Mass.
