Salem State's Zelzer, Moniz Earn All-New England Honors
Junior Marcus Zelzer and senior captain Cam Moniz were both named to the 2015-16 New England Hockey Writers' Division 2/3 All-Star team, which is voted on by coaches and media outlets from around the region.

Salem, Mass. – Junior Marcus Zelzer and senior captain Cam Moniz were both named to the 2015-16 New England Hockey Writers' Division 2/3 All-Star team, which is voted on by coaches and media outlets from around the region.
Zelzer, a Green Bay, Wisc. native, is coming off a season in which he earned third-team All-American honors, leading the Vikings to their eighth NCAA Tournament all-time. He won 17-straight games to finish with an 18-2 record, and he went 13-1 in conference, with two playoff wins for the MASCAC champions. His five shutouts tied for the lead nationally, and he was among the nation's leaders in goals-against average (2.03) and save percentage (.924).
Moniz, who hails from Seekonk, Mass., was a first-team All-MASCAC selection while leading Salem State to a conference championship. The forward led the team and conference in scoring with 19 goals and 29 points. His 19 goals co-led the league, and his five game-winning goals were tied for the most nationally.
This year's banquet will be held on Wednesday, April 13 at the Prince Restaurant in Saugus, Mass. The banquet will start at 6 p.m. All awards and All-Star teams will be presented at the gala. Babson's Jamie Murray received the New England Division II-III Men's Player of the Year Award after guiding the Beavers to an NEHC Tournament championship game appearance. Murray finished the year with a 14-5-3 record in 22 games played with a 1.61 goals against average that was fourth in the nation and a .940 save percentage (eighth in the nation). His four shutouts, meanwhile, were tied for third in the country. For his efforts, the Scituate, Massachusetts native was named the 2016 Sid Watson Award winner as the top NCAA Division III men's ice hockey player. Murray was a three-time First Team All-American during his career at Babson, and recently signed a professional contract with the San Jose Sharks minor league affiliate.
Peter Belisle of UMass Boston has been named this year's New England Division II-III Men's Coach of the Year following an outstanding season in which his team went 23-5-3, its most successful season in program history, highlighted by an NEHC Tournament Championship and appearance in the NCAA semifinals. The bench boss was also named the co-winner of the Edward Jeremiah Award, which is given to the STX/AHCA Division III Men's Coach of the Year. Belisle, who is 145-105-20 in 10 seasons at UMass Boston, led the Beacons to their first NEHC regular-season and tournament championship since 1982 this season and won its first two NCAA tournament games in program history.
The men's Division II-III All-Star team is comprised of three goaltenders, six defensemen and nine forwards.
Joining Murray on the All-Star team are fellow netminders Marcus Zeller of Salem State, a 2016 AHCA Third Team All-American, and Michael Pinios of Williams.
This year's corps of defensemen consists of Bowdoin's Mitch Harrington, UMass Boston's Tyler Bishop, All-American Zander Masucci of Williams, Alex Pompeo of Salve Regina, Saint Anselm's Peter Sikalis and Babson's Mike Vollmin (Third Team All-American).
This year's All-Star forwards include Tyler Beasley (Third Team All-American) and Frank Butler of Nichols, Brandon Bete of Assumption, Connecticut College's Tim DiPretoro, UMass Boston's Matt Lemire, a 2016 AHCA First Team All-American, and Colin Larkin, Cam Moniz of Salem State, Third Team All-American Sean Orlando of Trinity, and Endicott's Ross Olsson.
