After winning the MASCAC Tournament on Sunday, the Bridgewater State men's soccer team will play MIT in the first round of the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Tournament as announced by the NCAA Monday afternoon.
The Bears earned their fifth trip to the NCAA Tournament after defeating Framingham State in the MASCAC Tournament on Sunday 3-2. Tournament MVP and MASCAC Player of the Year Conor Murtagh led the way in the game with two goals and an assist, including the game-winner to secure the win for Bridgewater State.
MIT secured a spot in the national tournament for the first time since 2013. Winners of the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) regular season title, the Engineers fell to conference winner Babson College, 2-1, in the championship match, which was held on Sunday evening.
The two teams will square off on Saturday at MIT. The winner will face the winner of Bowdoin and Plattsburg State who also play on Saturday.
