Worcester State's Brasil Tabbed As ECAC DIII New England Men's Soccer Rookie of the Year
After earning the MASCAC Men's Soccer Rookie of the Year honor, Worcester State's Bryan Brasil was tabbed as the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III New England Rookie of the Year as announced by the organization.

After earning the MASCAC Men's Soccer Rookie of the Year honor, Worcester State's Bryan Brasil was tabbed as the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III New England Rookie of the Year as announced by the organization.
Joining Brasil as an ECAC honoree is Bridgewater State defender Jonathan Pires. 24 student-athletes total from around New England were named to either the first or second team which was decided by representatives from the region’s member institutions.
Brasil posted 25 points in his first collegiate season, recording 10 goals and five assists in 18 games played. The 2015 MASCAC Rookie of the Year finished the year ranked in the top three in all major offensive categories.
Pires tallied two goals and six assists for ten points as he started all 22 games for the Bears this past season. The Medford, Massachusetts product also anchored a defensive unit which helped produce a school record 12 shutouts as well as a 0.84 team goals against average.
Pires helped lead the BSU men's soccer team to a school record 17 wins (17-4-1) with a perfect 7-0 mark in MASCAC play during the 2015 campaign. The Bears captured the MASCAC Tournament title and advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament for the second time in the last three seasons and fourth time overall.
