After winning their second straight MASCAC Regular Season title, Bridgewater State claims the top spot in the upcoming men's soccer tournament which begins on Wednesday with the quarterfinals.

The tournament kicks off on Wednesday, Nov. 5 with the quarterfinals. #3 Westfield State hosts #6 Worcester State while #4 Salem State hosts #5 Anna Maria both at 7 pm. The lowest remaining seed will then face Bridgewater State at 6:30 pm while the other remaining seed will take on #2 Mass. Maritime at 7 pm on Thursday, Nov. 7. 

The two semifinals winners will then meet on Sunday, Nov. 9 at the highest remaining seed for the tournament title and a spot in the NCAA Tournament.

The Bears get a first round bye after going 6-1-1 in league play for the regular season crown. Filippo Mucci led the team with 19 points on five goals and nine assists. His assists led the league at the end of the regular season. He was a perfect 1-1 on penalty kicks while draining one game-winner this season.

Earning the other first round bye is Mass. Maritime with the second seed. The Buccaneers were 5-1-2 in MASCAC competition this season. Brody Calvert was a key on offense for the Bucs with 14 goals and two assists for 30 points with five game-winning scores. He had 73 shots with a .192 shooting percentage. 

Getting hosting duties for one of the quarterfinals is Westfield State with the three seed. The Owls were also 5-1-2 with Nick Parakilas leading the offense with 20 goals and four assists for 44 points. Not only are his goals leading the MASCAC, but he's second in DIII in goals per game with 1.25. Over his 83 shots, he shot .241 with four game-winners on the year. 

Hosting the other quarterfinal contest, Salem State is the fourth seed in this year's field. The Vikings were 3-1-4 during conference play. Iago De Sousa-Vieira finished the regular season with 15 goals and an assist for 31 points while going 3-4 on penalty kick attempts and scoring three game-winning scores. 

Finishing out the tournament field is Anna Maria with the fifth seed and Worcester State with the sixth. The AMCATS qualify for their first-ever MASCAC Men's Soccer Tournament after goin 3-3-2. Kyle Brocker ended the season with nine goals and an assist with 19 points while shooting .346 percent and 3-4 on penalty kicks. For the Lancers in goal, Tobias Schneider made 88 saves with a 1.71 goals against average and .807 save percentage which are in the top of the conference. 

Second seed Westfield State defeated fifth seed Salem State 2-0 during the 2024 MASCAC Tournament with the Owls earning a spot in the NCAA Tournament along with the conference title.
