Bridgewater State's Kevin McBirney and Westfield State's Nathan Sylven earn the MASCAC Men's Cross Country Runner and Rookie of the Week accolades after competing at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sunday.

McBirney was the Bears’ top harrier at the 50th Annual UMass Dartmouth Invitational which featured student-athletes from all three NCAA divisions. Completed the eight-kilometer course in a personal-best time of 25:28.89 to place 27th out of a field of 299 runners. Broke the 26-minute mark for the first time in his career. |

Sylven was the first home for the Owls in 58th place in the individual rankings with a time of 26:09.76 on the eight-kilometer course as the Westfield State men’s cross country team took 23rd place at the 39-team UMass-Dartmouth Invitational cross country meet on Sunday. |
