Bridgewater State Repeats at 2025 MASCAC Men's Cross Country Championship
For the second straight year, Bridgewater State has taken home the title of MASCAC Men's Cross Country Champions which was hosted by Westfield State at Stanley Park.
For the second straight year, Bridgewater State has taken home the title of MASCAC Men's Cross Country Champions which was hosted by Westfield State at Stanley Park.
The Bears finished with 28 points while Westfield State came in second with 57. Next in third is Fitchburg State with 66 points while Framingham State in fourth at 101. Rounding out the field was Worcester State at 115 and Mass. Maritime at 169.
Bridgewater State earned the team crown with their top five all finishing in the top 10. Crossing first for the Bears was Kyle Ackroyd in second place with a time of 26:01 while teammate Kevin McBirney was third with 26:06. Mitchell Parent and Tyler Amaral came in sixth and seventh in a time of 26:42 and 26:50, respectively. Finishing out their top runners was Aydan Fournier in 10th with a time of 27:12.
Runner-up Westfield State had two top 10 finishers. Nathan Sylven was fourth with an 8k time of 26:14 while teammate Andrew Organ was eighth, coming across the line in 27:05.
Leading the pack to claim MASCAC Runner and Rookie of the Year honors was Paulino Guevara Mateo of Fitchburg State. The freshman was the top overall finisher and first time performer to take home both accolades. He came in with an 8k time of 25:06. Joining him in the top 10 was Samual Edwards with a time of 26:28.
Framingham State's Aaron Corlette rounds out the top 10 with his ninth place performance. He crossed the line in 27:11.
Jim Jellison was named BSN Sports Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year as voted on by the coaches from around the conference.
The men's cross country teams have a week off and then return November 15 for NCAA Regionals.
