Julia Sullivan of Westfield State, Kelsi Gunarathne and Mycala Moody of Framingham State are the MASCAC Softball Player, Pitcher and Rookie of the Week honorees.

Sullivan batted .387 (12-31) with three doubles, nine RBI and eight runs scored in 10 games on the Owls’ Spring Break trip. Rapped out three hits and drove in three in the 13-1 win over Ripon (WI) College and finished 2-for-5 with three runs scored in a 14-12 loss to Gordon College. Finished the week with two hits, two RBI and a run scored in a 5-0 win over Plymouth State University. Also made four pitching starts and tossed three complete games.

Kelsi Gunarathne Framingham State Sophomore • P • N. Providence, R.I. Gunarathne went 4-1 with five complete games, allowing 23 hits on eight runs (six earned) for a 1.35 ERA with 28 strikeouts for the Rams. Tossed a two-hit 1-0 shutout against Trinity College (Conn.) while striking out seven. Eaned a complete game 4-0 shutout victory over SUNY-Plattsburgh, going seven innings and allowing just three hits while striking out seven.

Moody batted .357 (10-28) with four RBI, two stolen bases and two walks in a 4-4 week for the Rams. Went 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI in the 4-0 win over SUNY-Plattsburgh, 2-for-3 with an RBI and stolen base in the 6-1 win over Minnesota-Morris and 2-for-4 in the 6-1 setback to SUNY-Geneseo. |
