MASCAC Softball Weekly Awards 5/11
Allyssa Slack, Angelina Vartuli and Lyla Dwyer of Westfield State earn the MASCAC Softball Player, Pitcher and Rookie of the Week after leading their team to the MASCAC Softball Tournament title.

Slack helped power the Westfield State championship run, hitting a home run in the semifinal win over Worcester, and doubling and scoring the game-winning run in the championship game. Fininshed the week hitting .400 with two doubles, a home run, two rbi and five runs scored while holding down the hot corner defensively, with six total chances in the championship game. |

Pitcher of the Week |

For Vartuli the MASCAC Tournament was even more flawless than her pitcher of the year winning season, tossing a no hitter in the opening round of the tournament, then coming back with nine shutout innings in the title game to earn the win in both. For the week, pitched 15 innings while allowing just six hits, walking one, and striking out 18. |

Dwyer hit the ball hard all weekend in the MASCAC Tournament, driving in the walk off run in the semifinal win over MCLA, then scoring Allyssa Slack from second base with a single to give the Owls the MASCAC title, 1-0 over Worcester State in the championship game. Weekly Report 5/11 |
