Three MASCAC Student-Athletes Take Home ECAC Division III New England Rookie of the Week Honors

Three Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference student-athletes received weekly honors from the Eastern College Athletic Conference as announced by the organization this week.
Britt Herring of Worcester State in women's basketball and Andrew Higgins and Jayci Andrews of Bridgewater State in men's and women's indoor track and field. Earlier this week, they all earned MASCAC Rookie of the Week honors in their respective sports.
Herring averaged 21.5 points, eight rebounds and 1.5 assists in a 1-1 week for the Lancers. The freshman registered a career-high 28 points with 10 rebounds in the 76-57 win over Salem State and also added 15 points and six rebounds in the setback to Johnson and Wales University.
Higgins ran a leg on the Bears’ 4x400-meter relay which posted a season-best time of 3:27.93 to place second at the Tufts Cupid Challenge. The relay squad qualified for the ECAC Division III Championships in the event. Individually, Higgins finished seventh in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:24.78.
Andrews placed second in the 200-meter dash with a personal-best time of 26.64 seconds at the Tufts Cupid Challenge. The freshman also finished third in the 60-meter hurdles with a finals time of 9.28 seconds.
