Fitchburg State's Rose Earns ECAC DIII NE Rookie Of The Week Honors
Freshman Kyra Rose was tabbed the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Corvias Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.

FITCHBURG, Mass.– Freshman Kyra Rose was tabbed the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Corvias Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.
The first year Falcon averaged 33.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game in a pair of contests for the Green and Gold this past week. Rose posted a game-leading 27 points, eight rebounds, five assists, three steals and one block in a 102-74 setback to Westfield State on Wednesday before tying a Fitchburg State women's basketball single game points record with a 39 point effort to go along with four caroms and a pair of assists in a 71-58 setback to Colby-Sawyer on Saturday.
In addition to this honor, Kyra also earned Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC), New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) and Worcester Area College Basketball Association (WACBA) Rookie of the Week honors for her efforts.
The Fitchburg State Women's Basketball team (5-5, 0-1 MASCAC) returns to action on Wednesday as it travels to Bridgewater State for a conference tilt, starting at 7:30 p.m.
