Jill Valley of Westfield State and Kyra Rose of Fitchburg State claim the MASCAC Women's Basketball Player and Rookie of the Week honors.

Jill Valley Valley averaged 32 points, six rebounds, seven steals and 2.5 assists while shooting 61 percent from the field (11-18) in a 2-0 week for the Owls to earn the MASCAC regular season title. Scored a school-record 52 points in the 102-82 win over Worcester State.Her point total broke a 42-year old university record and is the highest total in DIII women’s basketball this season. She shot 19-27 (70%) from the floor, 2-5 from beyond the arc and 12-14 at the line. Scored 21 points in the fourth quarter as the Owls broke open a five-point lead with six minutes left in regulation. Also grabbed eight steals, six rebounds and three assists. Had 12 points, six rebounds, six steals and two assists in the 77-68 win over Bridgewater State. |

Rose averaged 16 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, two steals and 2.3 blocks in three games for the Falcons. Registered 14 points, seven boards, four assists, two steals and one block in a 73-69 setback to Becker College before adding a game-best 20 points, seven boards, three assists, three steals and three blocks in a 71-67 setback to Salem State. Concluded the week with a team-best 14 points, eight rebounds, one assist, one steal and three blocks in a 77-52 loss to Framingham State. |
