Framingham State's O’Day Honored with Selection to D3hoops.com All-Region Team and NEWBA All-Region Team
Framingham State University sophomore guard Mary Kate O'Day has been named to the D3hoops.com All-Northeast Region Third Team and to the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) All-Region Second Team as announced by both organizations.

Framingham, Mass. – Framingham State University sophomore guard Mary Kate O'Day (Berlin, Mass.) has been named to the D3hoops.com All-Northeast Region Third Team and to the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) All-Region Second Team as announced by both organizations today.
O'Day enjoyed a sensational sophomore season en route to earning Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year accolades. A first team All-MASCAC Selection, O'Day led the league averaging 18.5 points per game and 6.4 rebound and 2.3 assists per contest. O'Day was fourth in the league in three-point percentage (34.6) and fifth in free throw percentage (79.6). She scored a career-high 39 points in a victory over Fitchburg State.
Nominations for NEWBA awards and All-Region were submitted by both coaches and sports information directors in the region, and selections were made based on a vote by coaches.
Players chosen to the D3hoops.com All-Region team are eligible for All-American selection. The women's All-American team will be announced in the week following the Division III women's semifinals.
This is the 17th year D3hoops.com has named an All-Region team and this year's All-America team will be the 21st annual All-Ameircan selections. The D3hoops.com All-American teams, along with those of the respective coaches' associations, are the only ones recognized in the NCAA record book.
