Westfield State to Face Roger Williams In NCAA DIII Women's Lacrosse Tournament
MASCAC Women's Lacrosse Tournament Champion Westfield State will play Roger Williams in the Second Round of the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Tournament on Sunday, May 9. The game will be played on the Colby campus in Waterville, Maine.
INDIANAPOLIS – MASCAC Tournament Champion Westfield State will face Roger Williams in its first matchup in the NCAA Division III Women’s Lacrosse Championship Tournament. The game will be played on the Colby’s campus in Waterville, Maine on Sunday, May 9 at 11:30 a.m. as part of the tournament’s Second Round.
Westfield and Roger Williams are of two of the 37 teams selected into this year’s tournament field, which was announced during the NCAA.com Selection Show on Monday morning. The Owls and Hawks both earned berth’s via their conference’s automatic qualifier with Westfield winning the MASCAC berth and RWU earning the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) bid.
Westfield heads into the tournament with an 8-1 record, while Roger Williams carries and undefeated record into this year’s tournament standing at 6-0.
The winner of Sunday’s game will advance to the Regionals, which will also be held a Colby on Saturday-Sunday, May 15-16. The winners of the Regional round will advance to the NCAA semifinals. The semifinals and final will take place at Kerr Stadium in Salem, Va. On May 22-23.
