Westfield, Mass. — Bridgewater State midfielder Meredith Sylvia and Worcester State midfielder Mckayla Fisher are the 2026 MASCAC Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year and headline the All-Conference teams which are voted on by the coaches from around the league.
Sylvia, a senior from N. Dartmouth, Mass., takes home the 2026 MASCAC Offensive Player of the Year honors. This season, she netted 46 goals and 15 assists for 61 points with a 72.1 shots on goal percentage and was 7-of-15 on free position goals. She also finished with 38 draw controls, 42 ground balls and 29 caused turnovers on the year. She etched her name in the Bears’ record book with 166 total draws, seventh most in school history, 156 total goals (11th), ground balls (fifth) and caused turnovers at 111 (fourth).
Earning the 2026 MASCAC Defensive Player of the Year, Fisher, a senior from Peabody, Mass., helped the Lancers to back-to-back MASCAC Regular Season titles. She led the league with 99 draw controls, second with 59 ground balls, fifth with 39 caused turnovers while also helping offensively with 37 goals and 29 assists for 66 points all in the top seven of the conference. This season, she earned several milestones in her Lancers career, including 100 career goals, 200 career points, 100 caused turnovers, 200 ground balls and 300 draw controls.
Framingham State’s Jenna James was named the MASCAC Rookie of the Year after the freshman from Brewerton, NY led the Rams with 53 goals and two assists for 55 points. She also tallied an 84.7 shots on goal percentage with 17 ground balls, seven draw controls and four caused turnovers. She was named Rookie of the Week three times and had four or more goals five times during the season.
After leading the Lancers to a their second straight MASCAC Regular Season title and the top seed in the tournament, Kelly Downs of Worcester State has been named the 2026 BSN Sports Coach of the Year as voted by her peers.
Earning a spot on the 2026 MASCAC First Team with Sylvia, Fisher and James are Isabella DiMare and Kylie Thomas of Framingham State, Izzy Conley, Erin Dyckman, Marena Morales, Christina Roncarati and Mercedes Rozzi of Westfield State and Shannon Donahue, Amanda Palmisano and Molly Wikowski of Worcester State.
On this year’s MASCAC Second-Team All-Conference squad are Grace Holden of Anna Maria, Hannah Bettencourt, Sophia Fleurent and Sara Skaff of Bridgewater State, Makenzie Alicea and Jessica St. George of Fitchburg State, Alessia Lye of Framingham State, Karah Deveau and Sarah Naar of Mass. Maritime, Laura Young of Salem State, Leah Burchman of Westfield State and Madigan Kelley and Fallon Lozano of Worcester State.
