Westfield State Earns Top Spot in 2022 MASCAC Women's Soccer Tournament
For the third straight season, Westfield State is the top seed in the 2022 MASCAC Women's Soccer Tournament which will begin tomorrow with the quarterfinal round.

The quarterfinal round begins on Tuesday, November 1 at 6 pm with #3 Fitchburg State hosting #6 Salem State and #4 Worcester State facing #5 Framingham State at 7. #1 seed Westfield State will play the winner of Worcester State/Framingham State on Friday, Nov. 4 at 7 pm while #2 Bridgewater State will face off with Fitchburg State/Salem State also at 7.
The two semifinal winners will then meet on Sunday, Nov. 6 at a time to be determined to decide the MASCAC Women's Soccer Tournament Champion and the automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament.
Going a perfect 7-0 to earn the top seed and a first round bye is Westfield State. The duo of Jenn Rennich and Delaney Parker ended the regular season in the top three of several MASCAC statistical categories, including goals (18 and 14), assists (5 and 10) and points (41 and 38). Rennich is first in the league with five game-winning goals while Parker sits in fourth with two.
Bridgewater State nabbed the second seed and the other first round bye after going 5-1-1 in league play. For the Bears, Michelle Belcher leads the league in assists with 10, is third in goals with 11 and points at 32 and tied for first with five game-winners.
Sitting in the third spot with quarterfinal hosting duties is Fitchburg State. The Falcons were also 5-1-1 following the end of the regular season. Elizabeth Read closed out the regular season with nine goals for 18 points on 40 shots while helping the team to a victory with one game-winner.
Earning the final hosting spot is Worcester State with the fourth seed. The Lancers were 4-3 during the MASCAC campaign. Haley Mignon found the back of the net 10 times while assisting on three other for 23 points, all in the top 10 of the conference. She also kicked two game-winners for the squad.
Finishing out this year's tournament field with the fifth and sixth seed are Framingham State and Salem State. The Rams were 3-4 and Vikings 2-5 during league play. Hailey Baker led the Rams in goals and assists this season with three apiece while also tallying a game-winner. For the Vikings, Brenna Paquette was the leading goal scorer, netting six goals with an assist for 13 points while also scoring two game-winners this season.
Delaney Parker scored the only goal needed in the 2021 MASCAC Women's Soccer title game to give the Owls a 1-0 win over Worcester State and punch their ticket to the NCAA Tournament.
