Westfield State Picked to Repeat as 2022 MASCAC Women’s Soccer Champions
2021 MASCAC Regular Season and Tournament Champions Westfield State have been picked by the coaches from around the league to repeat during the 2022 season in this year’s preseason poll.

Westfield, Mass.— 2021 MASCAC Regular Season and Tournament Champions Westfield State have been picked by the coaches from around the league to repeat during the 2022 season in this year’s preseason poll.
The Owls landed in first with seven of eight possible first place votes for 49 points in this year’s poll. The team was a perfect 7-0 in MASCAC play last season. Back for her second season with Westfield State is Delaney Parker, the reigning MASCAC Player and Rookie of the Year. During the 2021 campaign, she led the conference with 31 goals, including eight game-winners and 70 points. She finished the year first in DIII in goals scored while breaking the Westfield State record in goals and points in a season.
In the second spot is Bridgewater State with 41 points and the final first place vote. The Bears were 5-1-1 last season. Returning is All-Conference honoree Michelle Belcher who last season tallied 11 goals and six assists for 28 points in her first season with the Bears after transferring. She finished second among the MASCAC leaders in game-winning goals with five, ranked third in both goals and points, and tied for fourth in assists.
Worcester State comes in third with 39 points. The Lancers also were 5-1-1 during the 2021 conference slate. Hailey Skowronski earned a spot on the All-Conference team last season after starting 17 games, scoring four times and adding one assist for nine points.
Sitting in fourth is Salem State with 28 points. The Vikings collected three wins during MASCAC play last season. In her first season with the team, Jasmine Moran led the team with eight goals and two assists for 18 points. This effort earned her a spot on the All-Conference team.
Close behind in fifth is Framingham State with 27 points. The Rams also had three wins during the conference slate in 2021. Leading the team in goals last season, Calen Frongillo returns to the team. She registered 12 points on five goals and two assists.
Fitchburg State is up next in sixth with 20 points. The Falcons collected two wins in 2021 league action. Between the pipes for Fitchburg State this season is Allison Gough. Last year, she played in 14 games for the Falcons with a 2.61 GAA, 132 saves and .820 save percentage.
Finishing out the 2022 women’s soccer poll in seventh and eighth are MCLA and Massachusetts Maritime with 12 and 8 points, respectively. Returning for the Trailblazers is Alyssa Porter who netted a goal led the defense for MCLA last season on her way to All-Conference honors. For the Buccaneers, Julia Quindley had two goals and two assists for six points while also earning a spot on the All-Conference squad.
The MASCAC women’s soccer teams will start the 2022 campaign the week of August 29 with non-conference play. Follow the action on mascac.com and mascac.tv.
