Westfield State Repeats as MASCAC Women's Outdoor Track and Field Champions
Westfield State women's track and field won their second straight Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference outdoor track and field championship at the 2025 meet at the Swenson Athletic Complex in Bridgewater, Mass. on Friday, April 25.

The Owls came in first with five first place showings and a relay win. Eliza Lee was a two-time champ on the day, crossing the line first in the 400m hurdles (1:06.09) and triple jump (11.27m). Julianne Kelly came in first in the 3,000m steeplechase in a time of 12:27.31. On the field side, Emily Ottomaniello won the pole vault with a clearing of 1.99m while Bronwyn Pinsly grabbed first place in the discus with a top throw of 38.83m.
The quartet of Molly Lenehan, Molly Kennedy, Tealei Chandonnet and Reese Stevens came across the line first in the 4x800m relay in 10:11.87.
For the runner-up Bears, they claimed eight individual titles and all three relays. Kiara Abrantes won a pair of MASCAC individual titles and broke her own school record while Alison McDonough and Naomi Cass garnered top honors in two events. Abrantes won the 400-meter race in 55.65 seconds, breaking her own mark of 55.70 set earlier this season. She was also first in the 200 with a time of 25.37 seconds. McDonough won the 100-meter dash in 12.39 seconds and was first in the 100 hurdles in 14.67 while also placing fifth in the long jump (16'3.25"/4.96m). McDonough placed first eight times during MASCAC outdoor championship meets in her career. Cass was the winner in the 5,000-meter race in 18:12.32 and also the 1,500 in 4:51.94. Serenity Sands, a Division III All-American, was first in the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 5.25 inches (1.66m).
The 4x400 relay team of Abrantes, Jordan Kosakowski, Bella Grover and Cass won in 4:10.21. The 4x100 relay team of McDonough, Abrantes, Grace Inacio and Emerson Ricciardi was first in 48.19 seconds.
Worcester State came home with two individuals champions on the day. Ciara Adu-Addo set a new school record in the long jump with a top leap of 5.68m. Jadah Stokes had the top throw in the shot put with 12.23m.
Framingham State landed two individual event winners. Kate Buban beat the heat to cross the line first in the 10,000m run in a time of 41:03. In the field, Kaylee Beck set a personal record with her throw in the hammer at 44.06m.
At her first MASCAC Outdoor Championship, Sophie Hepler of Fitchburg State earned her first MASCAC title in the javelin with a top throw of 34.45m.
The MASCAC teams compete again next weekend at the DIII New England Championships.
