Rackliffe Earns Volleyball Player and Rookie of the Week Honors
Framingham State's Alycia Rackliffe has been named the MASCAC Volleyball Player and Rookie of the Week for the week ending September 8.
Westfield, Mass.-- In the first weekly awards vote of the season, Framingham State's Alycia Rackliffe has earned the Player and Rookie of the Week honors after a stellar performance for the Rams over the past week.
Player & Rookie of the Week
Alycia Rackliffe, Framingham State (Fr., OH, Feeding Hills, Mass.) -- In a 4-0 week for the Rams averaged 13.5 kills and 3.3 blocks including averaging 13.3 kills and 3 blocks en route to being named Tournament MVP at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational. Recorded 15 kills, 8 digs and 4 blocks in 4 set win over Eastern Nazarene and 13 kills and 3 blocks in win over UMD and 12 kills, 2 aces, 5 digs and 2 blocks in win over Regis.
MASCAC Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll
Kristen Robillard, Bridgewater St. (Sr., LB, Swansea, Mass.) -- Averaged 16.6 digs and 1.4 aces in a 3-2 week for Bridgewater State including 24 digs and 3 aces in a 3-1 win over St. Joseph's College (CT), 17 digs and a trio of aces in a 3-0 win over Husson and 22 digs in a 3-0 loss to the University of New England. Became sixth Bridgewater State student-athlete to reach 1,000 dig milestone in setback to UNE.
Rachel Mills, MCLA. (Fr., MH, Highland Mills, NY) -- Averaged 0.76 kills per set in MCLA's first week of play. Over 21 stes, she had 42 digs, averaging 2 per set.
Lindsay Rescott, Westfield State (Sr., OH, Northport, NY) -- Lindsay Rescott was selected to the all-tournament team in both the Elms College Blazer Invitational and the Springfield College Invitational. Westfield won all three matches at the Elms Invite as Rescott led the Owls to a 4-3 record during the first nine days of the season.
Alyssa Jasper, Worcester St. (Jr., OH, Rockland, Mass.) -- Averaged 10 kills, 3.8 digs and 1.4 aces in a 1-4 week for Worcester State including 10 kills in a 3-0 City Tournament Consolation victory over Becker to go with 15 kills and 5 digs in a 3-1 loss to Brandies. Also had 11 kills in a 3-0 setback to Western Connecticut last weekend.
Nominated by the participating schools from around the conference, the winners are chosen based on their performance in their respective sport throughout the week.
