Four MASCAC Student-Athletes Earn ECAC Weekly Awards

Four Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference have been selected as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) weekly award winners for their sports as announced by the conference this week.
For football, Worcester State's Casey Hippert and Bridgewater's State Alex McLaughlin earned ECAC DIII Northeast Offensive and Rookie of the Week honors, respectively. On the court, Framingham State's Alycia Rackliffe is the ECAC DIII New England Volleyball Player of the Week. Wrapping up the honorees is Framingham State's Haley Chamberlain who was named the ECAC DIII NE Co-Rookie of the Week.
Earning himself a spot in the Worcester State record books with the third best single game receiving yardage, Hippert snagged 11 receptions for 243 yards and three touchdowns in the Lancers’ 50-43 win over UMass Dartmouth. Earlier in the week, he was named the MASCAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts.
As the reigning MASCAC Rookie of the Week, McLaughlin rushed for a season-high 103 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries in the Bears’ 24-0 win over Plymouth State.
Rackliffe averaged 4.08 kills and 1.33 blocks per set as the Rams went 3-0 last week on her way to earning MASCAC Player of the Week honors. The sophomore middle hitter slammed 23 kills with four blocks and three aces in a 3-1 victory over Worcester State. In a five-set win over WPI, Rackliffe had 18 kills and seven service aces with four blocks defensively. She totaled 49 kills for a .320 average last week.
Taking home MASCAC Runner and Rookie of the Week, Chamberlain navigated the Western New England Invitational course in a time of 19:51. The rookie turned in a second place finish, to help the Rams to a sixth-place overall finish.
