Westfield State's Shea Hamel and Framingham State's Kate Buban are the first MASCAC Women's Cross Country Runner and Rookie of the Week honorees of the 2023 season.

Hamel was the first one home for the Owls in 11:57.3 on the two-mile course at the Keene Alumni Invitational, placing fourth individually and setting a PR by 44 seconds. Westfield State edged host Keene State, 32-34 in the team scoring to take home the team crown. |

Buban completed the course in second place with a time of 21:00.2 which was just 10 seconds behind race winner at the Jim Sheehan Memorial Invite. |
