Framingham State's Almodovar Eclipses 1,000 Career Point Plateau

Junior forward Josue Almodovar scored a career high 31 points and became the 18th Framingham State College men's basketball player to eclipse the 1,000 point milestone in a 72-69 loss on Saturday, January 17th at Worcester State.

Almodovar, a Holyoke native, entered the showdown with the Lancers 23 points shy of 1,000 with 977 career points in just over two and a half seasons with the Rams. He reached the milestone on a bucket with 6:44 remaining in the game. Almodovar, a 2008 First Team All-MASCAC selection, moved into 17th All-Time in career points with 1,038 career points (thru 1/20) and is continuing to climb the All-Time list as he is only twenty points away from moving into 12th All-Time. For his career, Almodovar is averaging 17.3 points and 7.8 rebounds per game.
