Smith Cup standings. The Smith Cup is awarded annually to the member institution which compiles the most points based on the placement of each of its programs competing in the 15 league championship sports.

October 24, 2014 Former Salem State Men's Basketball Player Signed to Professional Contract Brian Clark, a 2012 graduate of Salem State University and four year member of the Salem State men's basketball program has signed a contract to play Professional Basketball overseas in Portugal. Brian, who left Salem State as the fourth all-tiime Leading Scorer behind the late John Galaris, signed with Galitos-Tley of the LPB, the first division in Portugal. Galitos-Tley is based out of the city of Barreiro, about twenty five minutes south of Lisbon.

And Vince Perreault ’14, the 2014 Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) player of the year, is a member of the Knoxville, Tenn., Ice Bears of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL).

March 1, 2014 Bridgewater State Claims MASCAC Men's Basketball Conference Championship Michael Lofton scored 24 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and earned tournament Most Valuable Player honors, as the number two seeded Bears of Bridgewater State upended the number one seed Vikings of Salem State, 83–73 to claim the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament Championship on Saturday at Twohig Gymnasium. With the victory the Bears earn their sixth MASCAC Tournament post-season championship, which includes an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
