Kathleen L’Abbe, who has served for the past three seasons as an assistant softball coach at Massachusetts Maritime, has been promoted to the position of Head Softball Coach at the Academy. L’Abbe’s appointment, which is effective immediately, was confirmed today by Buccaneer Director of Athletics Garin Veris.
Saugus native and former St. Mary’s softball star Ariel LaRosa is quickly building an impressive coaching career. After helping the Spartans win two state championships under the tutelage of former St. Mary’s coach Colleen Newbury, LaRosa returned to the team in 2013 as an assistant on Newbury’s staff for two seasons.
Ariel LaRosa has been named the new head coach of the Salem State softball program, as announced this week by Salem State Director of Athletics Peggy Carl.
