Westfield State College women's track and field standouts Kerry Arouca and Marlee Berg have qualified for the NCAA Division III indoor championships at the Rose-Hulman Sports and Recreation Center in Terre Haute, Indiana, March 13-14, with Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology serving as host.

Arouca is seeded 10th in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 17:19.57. The junior from Hanson, Mass., ran the qualifying time when she won the All New England (all divisions) championship two weekends ago.

Berg has qualified for nationals in two events - the high jump and the pentathlon. The versatile senior from Chelmsford set school records in both events this season, by clearing 5-7 in the high jump and compiling 3,136 points in the five-event competition. She is seeded second in the high jump and 13th in the pentathlon.

Both Arouca and Berg have national championship experience. Arouca competed in the NCAA Division III cross country championships last November, while Berg placed 11th in the high jump at the 2008 outdoor track and field championships.
